Alpine Strawberry (Seedling) 10/10

Krazykangaroo1's Edible Fruits
Update: 5226 days 1hrs

Comments: -

I LOVE alpine strawberries and grow white and also red fruited kinds. They are easy to grow and love light shade.

The fruits are very small but have a strong, lucious strawberry taste. The plants are clumping and most alpine varieties don't produce runners. They easily reseed themselves so you don't have to worry there. They do well in pots or in the ground. I have mine planted in a shadehouse where they look great among the ferns.

Fruiting Months January, February, March, April

Planted: 1992

Height 30 Centimetres

Growing: In the Ground

Qty: 20

Fruit Harvest: 50 Fruit Per Year

First Fruited: 1 Years from purchase in pot

Sun/Shade: Low Sun

After Fruiting

Pollination: Self Pollination

When I Fertilise: Spring

Pest Control:

Keep an eye out for slugs and snails. Birds often don't bother with the white ones.

Blackberry - Murrindindi (Cutting)

Mish's Edible Fruits
Update: 5579 days 22hrs

Comments: - Planted in a pot in early December 09, then replanted a few weeks later in the ground. Doing very well considering the messy transplanting process. I will be propagating my blackberry in the next few days by 'tip layering'.

Growing: In the Ground

Question: Anyone have any advice or wisdom on 'tip layering' cane varieties of plants?

Blackberry Jam Fruit (Cutting)

VF1's Edible Fruits

This is probably more of a novelty fruit, but I thought I'd give it a go - a small fruit whose interior contains a black-seedy pulp that tastes (and sort of looks) like black-berry jam!
