Pomegranate - Azerbaijani 5/10![]() Update: 829 days 24hrs Comments: - Very healthy, very tall about 7 feet and overall very happy with the tree but ...... Planted: 2018 Growing: In the Ground Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Winter Autumn and WinterPest Control: Nothing as doesn't appear to have any diseases. Question: The first flower of the year in Spring is always a female flower but no male flowers to pollinate it. All the other flowers that come a few days later are male flowers so I never get any fruit as by that stage my one female flower has died. Is there anything I can do to increase the female to male flower ratio come next Spring? Was this review helpful? Pomegranate - Wonderful (Seedling) 7/10![]() Update: 1908 days 18hrs Comments: - Growing really well in gutless sandy soil. Our soil is very alkaline. Pomegranate's go for around 5.5 to 7 PH but can tolerate considerable amounts of alkalinity and sodium in the soil. I aim these days to find plants that prefer sandy well draining soil and are happy in limestone conuntry near the sea!. It is far easier to keep happy plants that enjoy their surrounding than try to change the surroundings to suit the plant. Putting some structure into the soil (mulch, manue ect.) helps too. Beautiful flowers and now having its first crop in 2018 Fruiting Months January Planted: 2015 Height 1.2 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 First Fruited: 3 Years from purchase in pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Winter Autumn and WinterWhen I Fertilise: Yearly Organic Status:Organic Was this review helpful?
