Amla

The Amla is a small leafy tree that grows throughout India. This fruit is highly prized both for its high vitamin C content and for the precious oil, extracted from its seeds and pulp it is used in herbal and Ayurvedic preparations. The amla fruit is often referred to as the Indian Gooseberry because of its edible, very tart taste. It is also very high in pectin making it ideal for jam and chutneys. Grows to 8m.
