This beautiful small tree has very attractive dark glossy-green wax-like leaves and a peeling bark. The showy white flowers are followed by dark purple plum sized fruit which have a sweet juicy cherry flavour. Popular substitute for the traditional Prunus Cherry for warmer climates. Usually grown to a compact 34m. Self fertile, harvesting Oct-Nov. Can tolerate temperature to zero degrees.
