Comfrey Herb
Symphytum bulbosum
Upright perennial around 60-90cm tall and wide.
FEATURES: Large lance shaped foliage and pinkish purple flowers. Spreads via fleshy underground roots and is reputed to enhance healing of wounds and breaks.
CONDITIONS: Will grow in fertile moist garden soil in partial sun to shade.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Allow for self sowinll. Not to be taken internally as contains some known carcinogenic compounds.
PLANTING IDEAS AND USES:
• harvest leaves in Winter and roots mid-Autumn to Spring
• add leaves to your compost to speed it up
• herb or vegetable garden
