Guioa Semiglauca
A versatile and fast growing evergreen small to medium tree with a rounded bushy canopy of dark green, leathery foliage with distinctive grey-green undersides, which create a colourful display when blown in the wind. Profuse bunches of small, palegreen flowers borne every few years in late spring, followed by clusters of flattened capsules which attract birds. Plants appear leggy when young but thicken with age. A useful shelter tree for other plants, adapting to most soils and conditions. Do not plant near dwellings as branches are brittle.
