I am a grafted specimen
Grafted or budded plants produce better flowers, fruits, foliage or form. In many cases maturity is reached several years earlier.
Grafted specimens always produce flowers, fruit and foliage true to type.
Avoid disappointment. Invest in quality grafted specimens. They are worth the difference in price.
Many plants selected for desirable fruit, flower or ornamental foliage qualities do not have suitable vigour or quality in their own rootstock. These should not be grown from cuttings. or seed if optimum growth and production is desired.
Nurserymen select compatible rootstocks which tolerate poor soil conditions better and resist soil pests and diseases. Special rootstocks are used for dwarfs or standards. These are grafted with selected 'wood' or 'eyes' from parent plants displaying most desirable characteristics.
