Hardy, spreading perennial with strongly aromatic, sometimes reddish tinged leaves and pink flowers.
Leaves are widely used in Mediterranean dishes and Greek lamb recipes. Ideal for the herb or cottage garden and does well in pots and containers in sunny courtyards or on balconies.
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Harvest leaves regularly or as required. Prune stems hard in Autumn to produce fresh new growth. Fertilise in Spring.
