A frost hardy small tree. White multi-stamen flowers develop into red fruit with excellent tangy, sweet fruit.
FEATURES: Small pointed dark green foliage forms a bushy shrub to small tree 2-5m tall by 1 - 2m wide. Pretty fluffy white flowers Spring to early Summer. Guava fruit are highly variable. This form has rounded burgundy red-brown fruit when ripe. The flesh is also a purplish red. Fruit generally ripen in late Summer but in sub/tropical climates may crop twice per year. Heavy cropping tree.
CONDITIONS: Suited to fertile free draining soils in warm sunny sites.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Enrich soil with well rotted compost and manure in a thick mulch. Choose a site protected from strong wind. Prune to encourage woody stems close to the main framework which will bear fruit.
