Tomato - Santorini
Solanum lycopersicum
Exclusive to Burke's Backyard is the best tasting tomato ever the Santorini is a dwarf plant requiring minimal water.
Is this the world's tastiest tomato? We think so It thrives in the dry, volcanic conditions of the island of Santorini, Greece. We sourced this heirloop variety from an old Greek farmer who has been saving his own seeds for 50 years. He says he never waters his plants and his tomatoes are sensational, so in most areas in Australia normal rainfall will be enough. These are very sweet tasting, 5-6cm smallish fruit produced on a knee high bush that doesn't need staking.
