Were the staff helpful, must have been as I ordered over the net and plants arrived in great condition. I received plants from elsewhere at the same time and your packaging was far superior. I'll be back for sure. JoyBLOOMSBURY QLD (6th Oct 2009)

Loved the way they were packed, arrived in much perfect shape, unlike other plant retailers/wholesalers. Would order from you again. Ondrej,BROADBEACH WATERS QLD (3rd Oct 2009)

I love my coffee plants ... I have tried to kill em (lack of water, waaaay wrong climate, you know the drill us black thumbs are prone to do) and they are still alive... Growing quite happily i Might say. WWhat would be good, is if you could give me some tips for growing it so far south (One Tree Hill, SA) right now, I just have it in my Plastic house, but do not know if it will be too hot in there in summer. What is going to kill these things? too much heat or too much cold? Thanks - was OVER THE MOON with your service. AllenKILBURN SA (2nd Oct 2009)

Already had fruit of one of the mulberrys, and the other has just got it's first leaf the passion fruit was a bit damaged in the box but has started to grow now, thanks karenBARRACK HEIGHTS NSW (30th Sep 2009)

I was initially a little hesitant to order plants over the net from interstate, but will have no hesitation in future. They were all in good condition (and well packed) when they arrived, and did not seem to have suffered at all from the long trip. Thanks. KJHUNTINGDALE (VIC) VIC (29th Sep 2009)

Courier costs to the West are high, an alternative option would be nice if possible. In relation to service delivery, I find the staff wonderful, they keep you informed at all stages, let you know if there are plants they need to substitute, and generally treat the consumer as if their business is wanted...not something so common these days! CarolNORTHAM WA (24th Sep 2009)

I have made 4 previous large orders (1 to 4 boxes per order) and all plants have been of a high standard. Of all the trees I have planted I have only had 2 casualties (1 x scion die on a reilly chestnut and 1 x english walnut die) Peter RINVERELL NSW (23rd Sep 2009)

Postage cost is a little expensive. I would purchase more often if freight cost is a little cheaper. The problem is that I would like to purchase a few plants at the same time, but some plants are usually not available, which results in several purchases and several expensive freight charges. HanELEEBANA NSW (19th Sep 2009)

Got three dwarf avocados one for me and two for friends. Other than the cost (which was high due to the quarantine to WA) was highly satisfied. Excellent advice - way beyond the usual half-hearted info - especially like the blogs by people about where they have the tropical plants growing. Sending those plants to WA and then changing their environment to a hothouse, I would have expected a level of set back. My berries ordered from you are all growing well, especially the Boysen and Keriberry. This is their 2nd season so I'm keeping the fertiliser regimen the same, eg. 2 hand full of blood and bone, a small amount of chook manure, plus a hand full of rock phosphate for each plant. I then mulch them with newspaper and sugar cane trash. They're in large pots so moisture levels are pretty important, all in all they're very healthy plants. JohnMARSDEN QLD (5th Sep 2009)

Friendly and helpful staff but very difficult to get the plants that you want. A booking service with a guaranteed plant would be great otherwise the purchasing process is very stressful (by the time you see the email or get the message, the plant is gone - what's the point in notifying!). MirelaKAMBAH ACT (23rd Aug 2009)

I am very happy with the low chill fruit trees you sell. They are still young but the peach tree I planted last year has already got tiny fruits. No other local nurseries sell these varieties, they are still all selling the 800+ chill hours fruit trees from Flemings that are useless here on the coast in Newcastle. Too bad for them, they miss out. Keep up the good work. I would love to buy the cherimoya which I am waiting to be available. Any idea when this might be??? cynthiaBELMONT NORTH NSW (21st Aug 2009)

The quality of the plants is excellent. The plants are all growing well as far as I can tell. The jury is out a bit as the majority are dormant at the moment, so don't know how a lot of them are travelling. But they seem to be doing okay. I remember remarking how impressed I was with the quality of the plants. Only thing that was frustrating is not being able to order all the plants I wanted to from the catalogue as many are sold out!! ThomasYOUNG NSW (11th Aug 2009)

I think that our avocado tree was sent on a weekday, when we had asked for a Saturday because we work during the week and otherwise it has to be left outside the gate, which risks it getting stolen. It was very fortunate that it was delivered very early on the weekday morning so we saw it on the way out and were able to take it into our townhouse. All's well that ends well, but you probably need to be careful about that in future. But apart from that, the tree arrived very promptly, survived several days in its box outside and is very healthy now as far as I know! Thank you very much! CarolNEUTRAL BAY NSW (5th Aug 2009)

I completed my order online, the plants I received were mostly in good order however one looked like it might die, it is now doing quite well though. I should mention that there was a mistake with my order in that I was sent the wrong variety of guava to the one that I requested. I did not tick the box for an alternative as I was quite specific in the variety I wanted, I have now given this to someone else. It gets a bit expensive to be ordering several times to get the full range of plants I want. Not all are available at the same time. I'd be more willing to order if I could get all or most at the one time. Out here where I live, I have a special arrangement with Australia Post to leave my order at the letter box without a signature. No other carrier will do this for me which means a trip to Kingaroy and back to collect it, adding fuel to the cost of my order. This puts me off a bit.JohnDURONG SOUTH QLD (18th Jul 2009)

The plants looked OK when I got them. The black mulberry looked nicer (fresher?) than the red shahtoot. The latter looked like it had been hanging around awhile, but I have not see one before, so that may be 'the look'. The pomegranate had tiny brown spots on the leaves - I hope that is what happens before they fall. The mandarine looks good, though no growth at this time. They are dormant now, so I won't really know until spring. lisaNORTH ADELAIDE SA (5th Jul 2009)

My only concern was with the delivery company. The plants arrived at the depot, but no one notified me of the depot where they were to be delivered to and when they had arrived. They sat for a few days before i was contacted by the depot owner, who only by chance saw my notes on the attached invoice. Also enjoy browsing the wide selection of plants on offer on the website. Was also nice to get notified of when some requested plants were available via sms and email. Your website is fantastic, full of information on tropical plants. If only I could move to QLD! I'm not expecting too much from a mango in sth vic! its in a larger pot under a nth facing pergola so here's hoping.Your forum was also helpful informing me of other victorians growing tropical fruits. Plants arrived ontime and in good condition I have no complaints about your service. Thanks Sean. seanGROVEDALE VIC (19th May 2009)

I always try to order new trees from you rather than a nursery, even though the shipping usually makes it more expensive. It can be frustrating when you don't have any stock, meaning I have to wait for the species I want, however the wait is usually worth it. As an on-line buyer, I have always received healthy and mature plants perfectly packed and in top condition on arrival. Daleys has a fantastic product and excellent service. I also find their newsletters interesting and informative (as well as terribly tempting, of course - if only I had a couple of acres instead of a suburban block!). I have contacted their staff by telephone and email on occasions and always received friendly attention and knowledgeable advice. Daleys is the best nursery by a mile I have ever dealt with. Cannot fault quality of plants, when certain varieties where not available at Daleys, I bought some elsewhere but found that they lacked vigour and sat dormant so I actually removed them and replanted with ones from Daleys. Will not buy fruit trees from anybody else again.Living in Bundaberg I find the Star apples,Soursop, Abui and canistal growing well after the frosts( having frost covers on them) but unlucky with green sapote. Very satisfied with the orders in general. Only had the 2 yacons from the last order looking sad by the time they got here. To be expected, hot weather a lot of travel, though the pots were bone dry. A good watering and a few days back in good health. For me, I have noticed that I need to plan well ahead and watch the weather forecast. The two orders prior to the last, got the delivery, next day 40 plus degrees, lost half the order. The next order a few months later lost about half again with a frost after a 3 days from delivery. Once all are harden up, all go well. Ken Harrington, KALBEEBA SA (25th Apr 2009)

Actually I am very happy with the plants and the service. What I am finding tricky is getting access to available trees all at the same time so I just get one shipment.  I put in a request to be emailed when the trees I want become available and this usually happens one at a time so I would always be getting just one tree shipped. Never mind not much can be done about that. And thanks for the voucher! lynn mcallister, LAWNTON QLD (24th Apr 2009)

I'm quite happy with our relationship, your plants and your service. Please keep up the good work and don't stop looking for ways you might improve. There is one way you could improve from my point of view. As a gardening beginner I really need more planting advice than is provided on your identification tags. Perhaps you could either send this with the order or provide it on your website. For example, each tree needs advice about drainage, acidity (or not) of soil, type of soil or potting mix, initial fertilisation (or not) and ongoing fertilisation, does well in pots (or not), pruning advice in years 1/2/3 ..., etc etc. I suspect that most customers don't come near to providing optimal growing conditions for their new plants. And then know even less about ongoing care. If you sent such comprehensive advice out with each order it would give me an additional reason to buy from you ;-). It's about time that gardening suppliers (and TV shows) made it clear that successful gardening needs more thought than simply plonking a seedling or tree or seed in any old piece of ground. Keep doing what you are doing. Any chance of being able to offer more cooler climate plants for those of us in the south. Absolutely thrilled with ease of ordering, quality of plants, and speedy delivery. Instructions were followed to the letter. I could not believe that an order placed online on Sunday night was dispatched Monday morning, and was delivered in another state on Wednesday with all plants healthy and thriving. Notification when plants originally unavailable, became available, was swift. Unfortunately, at that time I was busy with work and didn't have time for gardening. This was no reflection on Daleys - just circumstances. Will deal with Daleys again, without hesitation. Lyn Finn, MACQUARIE HILLS NSW (13th Apr 2009)

Was quite excited when my Longan plant arrived in the heat of summer in February. Temperatures here were in the mid to high 30's when my order came. Was worried my plant would be stressed out after 4/5 days through the long journey. Waited for the cool of night to unpack my plant. Was really surprised to find that the plant was quite healthy looking with lots of leaves still attached, losing only a few leaves. It has since been re-potted into a bigger container in the back of my garden and is growing quite nicely. I think you have done a wonderful job in the packing of the plant. Thanks. All my plants have arrived in very good condition. I have followed the planting advice provided and have had success. All my plants are doing well. It would be very useful if when selecting plants there would be more advice on the size, shape and suitability of plants to geographical areas (eg. suitability and growing characteristics for Sydney - the tree may grow but never fruit). Only plant I have had die on me was my water chestnut. It was already 20cm high in the pot, so, soaked it in water for a day, then drained for a day, repeated this for a week. Then transplanted to a rich compost/manure mix and sand on top, filled with water. Plant started to die off, so I drained the water out, and tried to bring it back but she died. Since I received it in late summer/early autumn, I just must have got it wrong. I will try again in spring Tim Wellsmore, BULLI NSW (30th Mar 2009)

All the plants we ordered (fruit trees) arrived promptly, well packaged and in good health. We waited several days, as advised, before planting them out and the trees are now well established and growing. We had a very hot day here in February and one of the Lychee's we had just planted burnt off quite a bit but it has recovered well and is now fully leafed up....must be good root stock! The guava tree is in the hydroponic system in a smaller pot and branched out nicely. The loquat was put into a larger pot that will have its own single valve once added to the hydroponic system. As I have not had time yet to connect it to the main line in, I am watering it by hand. It has made new leaves and it lookes fine. I will watch it and let you know how its going once connected. Of course, I'm sure you heard, we had some very extreem weather that burnt leaves, but both trees are looking okay. Melanie Lewinsohn, MCKINNON VIC (23rd Mar 2009)

I experienced problems with the delivery, my plants apparently being dropped off to another customer with their order. The staff at Daley's were very helpful and the plants were replaced and I was very happy with both your staff and the plants. But definately not with the transport company, They told me a couple of versions of what had happened, and had to keep ringing them when they didn't return my calls. Plants arrived in EXCELLENT condition - the advice re what to do with them on arrival was the first I had been given from various people I buy from (e.g ***** and ******) and was first class and worked absolutely brilliantly - I couldn't be happier quite frankly... The only minor problem was that I was (and remain) interested in a couple of plants that you did not have immediately at the time I ordered - I would have liked to order and pay for them in one hit with the original order as I just do not have time to check/respond to your SMS messages (which are a good idea) or website (sometimes does not reflect the content of the SMS message) and order one or two plants at a time (nor really want to because of freight costs!) but that is a small issue that won't stop me buying from you again! I have purchased hundreds of plants from Daley's and find them to be decades ahead of any other nursery.I will continue to shop at Daley's and only hope their range of plants keeps on ever expanding Grant Wickstein, WHYALLA PLAYFORD SA (14th Mar 2009)

Thanks - finger lime excellent and great feedback when I asked some questions. Tahitian was a bit sad when it arrived - lost a few (quite a few) leaves , but I gave a feed and it seems to be shaping up. Both lemonades arrived looking ok but one has developed a blight of some kind (black spots on leaves) that I am treating with some spray. All are living in pots on balconies - will continue logging on to the site to see what I will buy next. Marios Hemaridis, BALGOWLAH NSW (13th Mar 2009)

Plants are generally doing ok however the Jaboticaba has developed some brown edging or spots on a few of the leafs while some of the older lime leafs are a very slight motley yellow. The speed of delivery and the packing of the plants was very good with the trees in much better condition than ones from local nurseries which quickly turned up their toes when planted out. Hi. In answer to "how are your plants going now?" one of the three blueberries plants died about 2 weeks after I planted it out. The other 2 are healthy and vibrant, so overall I think 'alright' is the most appropriate response. And thanks for the voucher. I'll probably use is to replace the one that karked it! The order was super speedy, the plant was healthy and vibrant. I placed it in a sunny spot for a few days as suggested but didn't calculate my horse being able to reach the tender young leaves of my Dwarf Mulberry over the top of the fence. He pruned off the top and uprooted it from its pot....but it was so healthy it took off once planted in the ground. It produced a handful of fruit so I have had a taste, can't wait for next years crop. Thank you, very happy. Natalie Dobbie, SHORTLAND NSW (17th Feb 2009)

All plants purchased both at the nursery and on-line (for delivery) have been exactly what we expected, very healthy, not root-bound and have all survived being planted out at the beginning of a period of extremely hot weather. Thank you for providing such a wonderful service. My plants have always arrived sooner than expected, in great condition. Your staff have also been most helpful in providing information. This year I enjoyed an abundance of apples and white peaches from your tropical, dwarf range of trees (which I cover in Vinnies lace curtains to protect against fruit fly, as I live in Sydney), as well as passionfruit and grapes. I am looking forward to my other trees growing and starting to fruit. My children are also hooked - they were given 3 trees each for Christmas - sure beats the plastic, uneducational gifts that many kids receive. Very pleased with the wonderful choice of plants online, the speedy delivery and the way the plants were packaged. The plants are very healthy and are growing beautifully, we will be ordering again in the very near future. Thank you, Nicole Lawrence. Nicole Lawrence, COFFS HARBOUR NSW (29th Jan 2009)

Despite all the good reviews (both here and on other sites) of Daley's it was still a leap of faith to put in an order for 30+ plants. The plants I received were as good or better than ones I would expect to find in any quality nursery.  All plants were of a good size, vigourous and obviously healthy. The packaging was also exceptional. Included in my order was a very spiny yellow dragon fruit plant which had been swaddled in shredded paper; not a scratch was to be seen on any other plant in the same box!

Thanks also to the delivery service who put them in the shady, sheltered spot I nominated in the 'special instructions'. And a big 'thank you' to Kath for all her assistance both with the order and with my questions prior. Good products, good service and fair prices, what more could I ask for. Peggy Maul Toowoomba, QLD

Fabulous Service, and great advice! My plants arrived in Sydney the next day after shipping, and were delivered in perfect condition before I left for work. All three of the Bilimbi are thriving with considerable new growth. I have planted out 2 and replanted the 3rd into a larger pot in preparation for the big trial, - their first winter in Sydney. All have breezed through the last few days of heatwave conditions here, with little more care than a gentle late evening watering. Thank you to all the team at Daleys! Tony Fisher Lakemba, LAKEMBA NSW (27th Jan 2009)

We live in a very hot enviroment.your plants have thrived and should expect fruit next season. we have purchased plants from a competitor of yours and they have failed. yes we are very happy with Daleys. carol lacey, BREWARRINA NSW (27th Jan 2009)

The 2 mulberry sp received were in beautiful condition , though smaller than i expected . however the packing ,literature and delivery were excellent, and once i realised that larger specimens are not necessarily cost effective, i was happy. the two little trees stayed in their pots under shade for a month with intermitent watering, which was not good, but have been in the ground now for three weeks, and i see bud movement at the tips. they look terrific. i shall sent you a photo . many thanks , Alan. Alan Milne, NEWCASTLE HILL NSW (27th Jan 2009)

I love Daley’s email alert on newly available plants. Without that, I will not able to get my Blueberry Misty, which became sold out in less than 3 days. Delivery to my Sydney address is fast. Despite the very hot temperatures in WA over the last few weeks none of the plants you sent me have died. Whilst your recommendation was to have them under the full sun, I felt that it would be kinder to them not to have this scorching sun bearing down on them in their first few months in Perth. Thanks for your watering advice and wish me luck with the jackfruit trees as I haven't had any success with them in the past. I will be extra careful with them in winter. Sue Owen, ST JAMES (WA) WA (19th Jan 2009)
