Richmond Birdwing Vine
Aristolochia Praevenosa
This vigorous climber is the food plant for the caterpillas of the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly. This plant has become rare in the wild and so has the butterfly, but you can help bring back the Birdwing Butterfly by growing this vine.
Grows best in semi shade with protection from hot sun and wind. Can be grown on a fence or up a tree. Frequent watering, good drainage and occasional applcations of native plant fertiliser are required.
