Syzygium Malaccense
Description: A tall tree with very large, glossy, dark green leaves up to 30cm long. In spring and summer it produces showy, purple flowers followed by pear-shaped berries in the autumn.
Uses: Ideal for containers when young. Suitable for rural properties and roadside planting.
Position: Grow in a sunny to partly shaded position. Best grown in moist, well drained soil enriched with humus.
Planting: Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hold so the soil level is the same as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist.
